Sept 20th Fall Weekly Pitching Clinic | Wingate Baseball

  • Ages 9-11
  • Max of 15 players per clinic | David Nash will assist depending on registrations, he was a former weekend starter for Wingate Baseball
  • Cost: $40 per session
  • Time: 6-7:30pm
  • Focus will be a series of drills that will help develop your players throwing progression
    • A mechanical breakdown of their stretch and windup
    • Proper off speed pitch development
    • Pitchers fielding practice (Throwing to bases, how to cover bases, pick offs, etc)
    • Proper arm care work
    • Mindset (How to be a pitcher and not a thrower)
  • Dusty White Bio from Wingate University:
  • Dusty White enters his seventh season as the assistant baseball coach at Wingate University in 2022. White serves as the pitching coach for the Bulldogs.
  • The 2021 season saw the Bulldogs capture the first NCAA national title in the history of Wingate baseball or SAC baseball. The magical season included the program’s seventh SAC Tournament title and first-ever regional championship.
  • White began his collegiate playing career at UNC Charlotte in 2005. He would then transfer to Wingate, where he earned a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations in May of 2010.
  • White began working at On Deck Baseball Academy, where he served as a pitching instructor while also coaching a showcase team and acting as the Directory of Tournaments and Events. He provided individual lessons, while also assisting the staff with the recruitment and college placement of players.
  • While working at On Deck Baseball Academy, White served as the assistant coach at Charlotte Latin High School in 2011. In addition to serving as the pitching coach at Charlotte Latin, White assisted with the day-to-day practice plans of the team while also assisting with daily field maintenance.
  • In 2012, White was named the assistant coach at South Mecklenburg High School. In addition to his in-season duties, White helped create throwing programs, arm-care plans and daily routines for pitchers throughout the year. He also assisted the baseball program in creating offseason weight training and speed and agility programs.

Per NCAA regulations, Wingate University Baseball Camps and Clinics are open to any and everyone, limited by age, and number of participants.

Unless otherwise noted, our camps are not overnight camps. Players traveling
from out of town are responsible for securing their own accommodations.

Each camper should wear baseball uniform pants, colored socks or stirrups,
and a shirt, jersey, or warm-up for each session. Additionally, campers
need to provide their own glove, spikes/cleats, and tennis shoes (or turf
shoes). Catchers are expected to bring their own gear.

Additionally, any medical waivers and/or COVID policy paperwork should be completed and turned in.

All camps will run rain or shine and there is no rain date scheduled.
Players must bring appropriate footwear for any indoor activities i.e.
sneakers or turf shoes.

Registration will take place at the Wingate Baseball Concession Stand located at the top of the stadium near the tennis courts. Specific times for check in will be updated as needed.

There will be no cash refunds for cancelled campers. Camp credit will be offered towards a future Wingate Baseball Camp.

While water is provided for athletes, we encourage you to bring any additional food/sports drink that you’d like to stay hydrated.
