Robert Dudley was named the third head coach of the Wake Tech Baseball program in June 2019. Prior to being named head coach, he was an assistant coach with the Eagles for the 2019 season.

Prior to joining Wake Tech, Dudley was an assistant hitting coach at Heritage High in Wake Forest, NC for three years (2015-2018). During his time there, the Huskies finished at or near the top of the conference in several offensive categories. In addition to Heritage High, Dudley was also the head coach of the North Wake Fungo of the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League (CVCL) for two summers (2016 & 2017). The Fungo won the batting title in his first year and led the league in home runs the next year.

Dudley works with USA Baseball during the National Team Identification Series (NTIS). He works with prospective National Team players through workouts and on field coaching. As an NTIS coach, Dudley works with USA Baseball National Team Scouts to evaluate and identify players for the next year’s national team pipeline. He has also has presented at several USA Baseball Develops programs which offers free educational resources for athletes, parents, coaches, and umpires.

In addition, Dudley has worked as an instructor and coach for FBI Baseball and North Carolina Amateur Baseball Club (NCABC) since 2015. He has led group training sessions, hitting clinics, individual and group lessons, and camps as well as free coaching clinics. He also served as the Head Coach for the North Wake Fungo Post 187 Legion team which is housed as NCABC for two seasons (2018 & 2019).

Dudley spent three years coaching the Club Baseball Team at North Carolina State University, including one summer (2014) as the assistant on the Carolina Pirates of the CVCL, as well as one year at South Stanly High School, in Norwood, NC. He has also taken part in coaching at the 12u USA Baseball Futures Tournament (2015), the South Atlantic Border Battle (2017), and the USA Baseball National Talent Identification Series (2018).

Coach Dudley is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he played three years of club baseball for the Wolfpack.  He graduated from South Stanly High School where he was a four-year letter winner in baseball. He and his wife Meg live in Raleigh with their sons Teddy, Jack, and Walt.
