IndyBall Jobs was an idea created by Founder Bert Gonzalez after discovering current Minnesota Twins AAA Catcher Frank Nigro at a showcase. Undrafted out of NCAA Division II Wilmington University Frank Nigro was given an opportunity and signed in Independent Baseball by the High Point Rockers of the Atlantic League. Frank Nigro’s success in independent baseball earned him an opportunity with the Minnesota Twins. 

Bert Gonzalez; Bench Coach of the High Point Rockers, like many others, grew up dreaming of one day playing professional baseball. Undrafted out of High Point University with no guidance or opportunities in Independent Baseball he took a leap of faith and signed professionally overseas in Spain. After returning from Spain, Jamie Keefe (High Point Rockers Manager) gave him an opportunity to be a bullpen catcher in independent baseball. After 8 years of bullpen catching at the age of 30 Bert was signed by the High Point Rockers of the Atlantic League.  

IndyBall Jobs Co-Owner Anthony Coromato; Bench Coach of the Charleston Dirty Birds of the Atlantic League, undrafted out of NCAA Division III SUNY Cortland was also left with no opportunities in Independent Baseball. After spending 3 years overseas playing in Italy, Coromato was out of baseball for over 10 years when IndyBall Jobs presented an opportunity to sign with the High Point Rockers of the Atlantic League. Coromato since then has spent the last 4 seasons as a player/coach in various leagues in Independent Baseball.

IndyBall Jobs is dedicated to 9/11 first responder late NYPD P.O. Philip Gonzalez, father of Bert Gonzalez. “A member of the NYPD Baseball Team, he would take me to High School, College, Yankee games and we would study the games as he taught me how to evaluate talent.” -Bert
