Justin Shults joined the Broncos on June 16, 2021 as the fourth head coach in program history.
In 2023, Shults led Boise State to a conference regular-season title. The team also received votes nationally for three consecutive weeks.
The Blue and Orange were also ranked third in home runs per game (1.65), fourth in scoring (6.86), fifth in on-base percentage (.418) and fifth in slugging percentage (.568), nationally.

Allie Walljasper joined the Broncos on July 12, 2021 as a member of head coach Justin Shults’ inaugural staff. She serves as the Broncos’ pitching coach.
In Walljasper’s first season, Boise State’s pitchers set a school-record of 7.15 strikeouts/7 IP and combined for an ERA of 2.71, the best mark in program history. The Broncos also recorded the programs most strikeouts (335) and shutouts (12).
Sara Johnson (2.71) and Hannah Bailey (2.73), ranked 1-2 in Boise State career ERA.
Taylor Caudill set a single-season school record with 9.12 strikeouts/7 IP.
Fran Strub joined the Broncos on July 9, 2021 as a member of head coach Justin Shults’ inaugural staff. She primarily works with Boise State’s defense, assisting with the hitters.
In 2023, Strub helped guide the Broncos to a conference regular-season title and breaking program records in home runs (81), on-base percentage (.418), and slugging percentage (.567).
Boise State’s offense ended the season ranked third in home runs per game (1.65), fourth in scoring (6.86) and fifth in on-base percentage (.418) and slugging percentage (.568), nationally.
In her first season, Strub’s defensive coaching efforts set a school record for fielding percentage (.983), ranking first nationally.
The Broncos also tied the record for fewest errors committed (24).
Strub’s contributions to Boise State’s offense led to national rankings in scoring (5th), double players per game (10th), slugging percentage (12th), on-base percentage (11th), home runs per game (15th) and batting average (15th).
