Welcome to the Frederick Community College Volleyball Camp, where we’re bringing you four fantastic opportunities to improve your game! This isn’t your average camp; we’ve tailored each session for high school volleyball players graduating from 2024 to 2027. Mark your calendars for December 27 and 28 because we’ve got something special lined up for each day. These sessions are designed to boost your skills and deepen your love for the game.
Can’t wait to see you there! Get ready to bring your A-game to each volleyball session!
I’m Donyelle Scurry, the head women’s volleyball coach for the Frederick Community College Cougars, and I can’t wait to meet each of you. My goal is to ensure that every camper leaves with improved skills, a better understanding of the game, and, most importantly, a smile on their face.
Let me walk you through what we have planned. Session one, starting at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, December 27, is where you’ll learn the art of perfect hand positioning and footwork. In session two on the same day, starting at 10:30 AM, we’ll focus on hitting and blocking, vital skills for both offensive and defensive plays.
In session one on Thursday, December 28, starting at 8:00 AM, we will work on ball control, a crucial aspect of the game that ties everything together. In session 2 on December 28 at 10:30 AM, we’ll focus on serve-pass drills, where you’ll get to improve your serving power and serve-receive tactics.
What you will get with each session: Collegiate-level coaching and specialized training to understand the technical AND tactical facets of the skills being taught and refined. We focus on not just the “hows” but the “whys” of the game to increase Volleyball IQ, a skill often overlooked but can be the difference between being just another number on the roster and being a key player on the court at any level.
Remember, it’s not just about volleyball; it’s about making friends, learning teamwork, and having fun while playing the sport we all love. So grab your gear and join us for this exciting volleyball adventure at Frederick Community College. I can’t wait to see you there!
Parents, you are welcome to stay and watch, but bring your own chairs, and you’ll be limited to sitting in a designated area.
