Welcome to the Rice University Basketball Camp, where athletes will learn and receive skill development, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. Our Day is tailored for basketball players entering grades 1st through 9th, providing a dynamic and engaging environment for players of all abilities.

– Athletes will be grouped based on there age/grade and skill level.

Camp Experience:
Campers will be grouped into leagues based on age and skill level, ensuring a supportive and challenging atmosphere for every participant. Throughout the camp, our experienced coaches will guide small group sessions focused on both individual and team skills. From dribbling and shooting techniques to defensive strategies and game tactics, campers will hone their abilities while fostering a deeper understanding of the game.

Camp Inclusions:
Each camper will receive an exclusive Coach Lanier Rice Basketball Camp jersey, proudly representing their dedication to the sport. Additionally, every participant will receive an evaluation certificate, recognizing their progress and achievements during their time at camp.

What to Bring:
We ask campers to arrive dressed and ready to play in athletic shorts, a t-shirt, and proper basketball or athletic shoes. A refillable water bottle is essential for staying hydrated throughout the day. To maintain focus and safety, we kindly request that campers refrain from bringing jewelry, watches, hats, or cell phones. Basketball equipment will be provided, and additional items will be available for purchase during the week.

Camp Schedule:
Camp runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday, with drop-off beginning at 8:30 am. Parents are asked to drop off and pick up campers at the front of Tudor Fieldhouse, with staff assisting during dismissal. Friday’s closing ceremonies commence at 2:00 pm, followed by final dismissal at 2:30 pm.

Teammate Requests:
We understand the importance of camaraderie on the court. Campers are encouraged to request to be placed on the same team as their friends, with arrangements made on the first day of camp to accommodate these requests.

Camp Trainer:
Safety is our top priority. A certified athletic trainer will be present throughout the duration of the camp to address any medical concerns and ensure the well-being of all participants.

Visitation and Check-In:
For the safety and security of all campers, family members are not permitted inside the building during camp hours, except for check-in on the first day and during closing ceremonies on Friday. Please park in West Lot 2 and follow designated procedures for drop-off and pick-up.

COVID-19 Protocols:
We remain committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our campers. We will communicate any relevant CDC or Rice University guidelines prior to the start of camp to ensure compliance with current protocols.

Meals and Refund Policy:
While meals are not provided, snacks and lunch items are available for purchase. Campers can establish a Camp Bank Account on the first day of camp for convenient transactions. Refunds are subject to our policy, with a $100 non-refundable deposit and prorated fees for early withdrawals due to unforeseen circumstances.
