Darion Brown is the head men’s basketball coach at Texas A&M University-Texarkana, bringing a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence both on and off the court.
A native of Alexandria, Louisiana, Brown played collegiate basketball at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. As a four-year starter for the Saints, he amassed 1,116 points, 551 assists, 270 rebounds, and 189 steals. His leadership contributed to three NAIA National Tournament appearances and earned him two All-Red River Athletic Conference second-team selections. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management in 2018.
Brown began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Salem University during the 2018–19 season, where he also completed his MBA in Management in 2020. He then served as Director of Recruiting at the University of South Alabama (2020–21), Assistant Coach at Nicholls State University (2021–23), and Assistant Coach at Jacksonville University (2023–24).
In 2024, Brown was appointed head coach at Texas A&M-Texarkana. Under his leadership, the Eagles aim to build a competitive program in the Red River Athletic Conference. Brown emphasizes a holistic approach to development, focusing on performance in athletics, academics, and community engagement. His guiding principle, “The Standard,” reflects his commitment to consistency and excellence in all aspects of the program.

Connor Ouellette serves as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Texas A&M University-Texarkana, where he brings a unique blend of on-court experience and local pride to the Eagles’ program.
A native of Texarkana, Texas, Ouellette made history as the first player in TAMUT basketball history to play all four years and score over 1,000 career points . He played as a point guard, standing 6’4″, and was known for his leadership and consistency. During his senior season, he averaged 10.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, while shooting 51.2% from the field and 83.8% from the free-throw line
After graduating, Ouellette transitioned into coaching, joining the Eagles’ staff in the 2023–24 season . His deep understanding of the program and commitment to its growth make him an invaluable asset to the coaching team.

Tyler Houff serves as an Assistant Coach and Creative Director for the Texas A&M University-Texarkana men’s basketball program. In his role, Houff contributes to player development, game strategy, and the team’s creative initiatives, including media content and branding efforts. His dual responsibilities support the Eagles’ commitment to excellence both on and off the court.

Javonte Jones is a Student Assistant for the Texas A&M University-Texarkana men’s basketball team. In this capacity, he assists the coaching staff with daily operations, practice sessions, and game-day preparations, contributing to the program’s overall efficiency and success.
