Former Hofstra University team captain Brian Holland was named the head coach of the Montreat men’s lacrosse program in May of 2023. He enters his second season with the Cavaliers in 2024-25.

2024
- Notched his first win at Montreat on Feb. 8 vs. Brevard (12-8).
- Finished the year 2-14 (1-8 AAC), landing ninth overall in the conference standings.
- Athlete achievements: 2 CSC Academic All-District® Men’s At-Large Team, 2 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes and 3 AAC All-Academic Team.
PRIOR TO MONTREAT
Holland came to the Cavaliers after most recently coaching the Team Carolina 2026 Elite squad since 2020. Prior to his time with Team Carolina, Holland led Nation Ford High School from 2012 to 2017. While at the helm of Nation Ford in 2016, the West Islip, N.Y. native collected the South Carolina Coach of the Year award.
During his time at Hofstra from 1990 to 1995, Holland notched honors such as the Steve Carlin Unsung Hero Award and a North Atlantic Conference All-Star nod. He also scored a goal in the 1993 NCAA Division I Quarterfinals against eventual national champion Syracuse University.
Holland went on to earn his degree in Business Management in 1995. He now lives in Fort Mill, S.C. with his children, Justin and Peyton.

Who can participate in your camps?
Our camps are open to all players, regardless of skill level, age, grade level, or gender. We welcome beginners looking to learn the game as well as advanced players seeking to enhance their skills.
Who are the instructors?
Our camps boast a highly qualified and experienced coaching staff. Instructors include Montreat Coaches, and current players. This ensures that participants receive top-notch instruction from experts who are dedicated to fostering the growth and development of young athletes.
What safety measures will be in place?
The safety of our campers is of utmost importance to us. We maintain a safe and secure environment by adhering to all necessary health and safety guidelines. Our staff is trained to provide proper supervision and ensure that all equipment is in good condition.
How can I register my child for your camps?
Registration for our camps can be completed online through Play’n Sports software. The registration process will require basic information about your child, such as name, age/grade, emergency contact details, and any medical considerations. Specific instructions and registration deadlines will be available on the camp website.
