Gannon Univ Baseball
Cannon joins Gannon University from Chatham University, where he worked as the head baseball coach since 2019. Cannon helped the Cougars reach new program highs in overall victories and conference wins in 2021. During his second year of coaching, Cannon also helped his team set a new record for highest grade point average in program history with a 3.45 GPA.
The Valencia, Pa., native also worked as head coach of the 17U Pittsburgh Spikes Baseball team since 2019, a premier travel baseball organization in Pittsburgh, Pa. He coached top players from the Western Pennsylvania area throughout his tenure with the Pittsburgh Spikes.
Cannon began his coaching career at Seton Hill University as a full-time assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator in 2012. During this time, he helped guide Seton Hill to four straight 40-plus win seasons, including one West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) North Division Championship in 2013, two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Championships, two PSAC Tournament Championships, seven conference tournament appearances, six NCAA Division II Regional appearances, and a trip to the NCAA World Series in 2014.
Cannon graduated from Seton Hill University where he received his bachelor’s degree in business in 2011 and his Master of Business Administration in 2014.
During his collegiate baseball career at Seton Hill, Cannon was a four-year regular contributor as a pitcher, posting 12 wins over 159 innings. Cannon is ranked fourth in school history with a 3.78 earned run average. He logged 113 career strikeouts in 48 career appearances.
Cannon helped his team secure four straight playoff appearances while on the team, including three NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament births. He was also part of leading Seton Hill to its first-ever WVIAC Championship in 2010.

Joe Colosi serves as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.
Colosi served as a volunteer assistant coach for Gannon in 2019 while helping guide the Golden Knights to their best season in program history. The team’s 33-17 overall and 21-7 conference marks are both program records, and the Knights also achieved their first-ever NCAA tournament berth.
The former Gannon starting pitcher played under head coach Greg Coleman for three seasons from 2016-2018. In that span, Colosi was part of the 2016 team that set the program’s previous overall wins (31-17) and conference wins records (18-10). He was also a part of the 2018 team that tied those same marks.
The Niagara Falls, New York, native led Gannon starting pitchers and was second among the entire staff in opponent batting average (.188) and WHIP (1.08) during his senior season. Colosi finished his three-year Gannon career 21st all-time in wins.
Prior to transferring to Gannon for his sophomore year, Colosi played his freshman season for head coach Matt Clingersmith at Niagara County Community College. At the junior college baseball juggernaut, Colosi went 5-0 with a starting staff-leading 2.78 ERA and a no hitter while helping his team reach the NJCAA Regional Final Four.
Colosi received a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Gannon in 2019 with a minor in history.
