Summer Baseball Boot Camps

The Performance Academy
1010 Classic Rd, Apex, NC 27539
The Performance Academy
July 19, 2021
9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Our baseball boot camp will run M-F from 6/14 through 8/27. You can sign up for specific days or weeks of camp.

Our baseball boot camp is a baseball specific camp for campers ages 7-13. Their typical day will begin with the 7:30AM-9:00AM drop off period- during that time we’ll have both our baseball campers and all day sports campers separated out on our main turf. They’ll play different games until 9:00AM when everyone has arrived. From 9:00-9:15 they’ll do a dynamic warm up- if the weather is nice we’ll have them outside for this on turf outside behind the building. Then we’ll divide the baseball campers and all day sports campers- the baseball camp group will head over to our baseball side and hit off our Hittrax machine- a special tool that shows campers on a screen where their hit would have landed and how far it went relative to a baseball diamond. This will also keep track of specific baseball measurements including exit velocity, distance, launch angle, etc.. They’ll focus on all the different aspects of baseball; primarily hitting and fielding. We’ll have 2 weeks dedicated to pitching: June 22nd-27th | July 12th-16th, and 2 weeks dedicated to the catcher position: June 28th-July 2nd | July 19th-23rd. About halfway through the morning they’ll stop for a 15 minute snack and water break. Baseball camp runs from 9:00AM- 12:00PM, with a drop off period from 7:30AM-9:00AM.

If you would like them to stay all day, “After camp” is available where the baseball boot campers can join the sports campers for lunch and continued game play. During lunch we’ll have sports videos quietly playing in the background- “Dude Perfect” trick shots are usually a favorite if you are familiar with them. After lunch is cleaned up and everyone has washed their hands, they’ll return back to playing games on the turf. They’ll play different games ranging from dodgeball, soccer, football, badminton, whiffle ball, etc.. and will also play outside weather permitting. Later in the afternoon they’ll have another snack break before pick up between 5-6pm.

Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, my first athletic love was football. My career was cut short by injuries after my freshman year of college. I then transferred to East Carolina University where I studied Kinesiology and Physical Education. While in school at ECU I began to train and compete in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting which I continue today. After graduating in 2014 I moved to Akron, OH where I was the head strength and conditioning coach at CSI for 4 years. Since moving back to NC my wife and I have settled in Apex while I have worked in general population personal training for the last 2 years. My true passion lies in helping young people become the best athletes and humans they can be while staying injury free and humble. I am very excited to step into this role and help the athletes of this area reach their full potential through proper strength and speed training.
