**Friday, October 20th:**

**Campus Exploration:**
Kick off the weekend by immersing yourself in the vibrant Ottawa University campus. Embark on a guided tour that will take you through our state-of-the-art facilities, providing you with a firsthand look at the resources available to help you excel both academically and athletically.

**Admissions Meeting:**
Your future starts here! Engage in a personalized meeting with our admissions team, where you’ll gain valuable insights into the enrollment process and discover how Ottawa University can support your academic ambitions.

**Lunch with Team Members:**
Get a taste of life as a member of the Ottawa University baseball family as you join us for lunch in our campus café. Share stories, ask questions, and connect with current team members to gain an authentic perspective on what it’s like to be part of our team.

**Practice Session with the Team:**
Step onto the field alongside our dedicated team for a practice session that will give you a glimpse into our training routines, coaching style, and the camaraderie that defines our baseball community.

**Saturday, October 21st:**

**Showcase Evaluation Game:**
Saturday is your time to shine! Engage in a showcase-style evaluation game, where you’ll have the opportunity to display your skills and talents on the diamond. From 9am to 1pm, showcase your abilities in a game that highlights your strengths and potential.

Tim Montez was named the first coach in OUAZ baseball history in early 2017. In his first season, he led the baseball program to the NCCAA World Series in Easley, S.C. Now entering his sixth year, Montez has led the Spirit to 73 wins, a GSAC East Division Championship, and an appearance in the GSAC Championship Series. In 2019, Montez launched the OUAZ Developmental Program.

A graduate from St. Paul High School (Sante Fe Springs, Calif.) (1979), Montez also played & graduated from Pepperdine University (Malibu, Calif.) (1984). Montez and his lovely wife Darleen reside in Surprise and together have three boys (David, Ryan, and Adam) and a daughter (Amy) with five beautiful grandkids.

A Surprise resident of 23 years, Coach Fallon has tremendous ties to the community, his wife, Natasha has been a teacher for more than 20 years in the Dysart School District and their three boys (Koty, Tanner and Hunter) all attended schools and participated in all city sports right here in Surprise. Each of Fallon’s sons have had the opportunity to play college baseball while earning their degrees, with Koty being selected in the MLB Amatuer Baseball Draft by the San Diego Padres in 2019. Coach Fallon has had the unique opportunity to coach and/or be involved in elementary, junior high, high school, college and professional baseball over his 30 year career in baseball. Not only with his own children, but has personally coached and guided players from age 10 to professional baseball. Motivating, teaching and developing players to succeed in the game (and life) has been a personal mission for 30 years.

Coach Cox is a native of Arizona graduating from Maryvale High School (1988), he and his wife Amy of 22 years reside in Glendale and have three kids, two sons (Brandon and Justin) and a daughter (Rileigh).  Coach Cox has been coaching baseball for 27 years in Arizona with 8 years at Mountain Ridge High School where he was able to coach future professional players, Matt Liberatore (1st round/St. Louis Cardinals), Cameron Cannon (2nd round/Boston Red Sox), Matthew Dyer (4th round/New York Mets) and Alex Roth (21st Round/Pittsburgh Pirates) as well as more than 50 players who moved on to play at the college  level.  Coach Cox will lead all of the pitchers and catchers for the Spirit, both varsity and developmental.

Coach Orlando Rodriquez “Coach O” is originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico. He played for New Mexico State University and moved to Arizona in 2006, in which he began his coaching career. In 2018, he became the head baseball coach at Willow Canyon High School in Surprise, Arizona where he led the Wildcats to their first two Regional Championships in school history; plus, playoff appearances in over a decade. Coach O has been married to his wonderful wife Elisha since 2015 and will work with the infielders and bring a lot of experience and energy to the baseball program.

Josh Simonis

Coach Simonis has served 2 seasons as a Developmental Coach & Scout for the United Shore Professional Baseball League. He is the Owner of No Doubt Showcases. No Doubt runs showcase camps and tournaments across the country, helping players learn from and be seen by College Scouts.

Previously, Simonis coached at Wayne State University in 2019 and 2020, where he oversaw the infielders for the Warriors. Wayne State Baseball had it’s best defensive season ever in 2019, position a .972 fielding percentage. The Warriors won 35 games in 2019, which is the second most all-time. Wayne State finished the season ranked 25th in the nation.

Before coaching at Wayne State University, Simonis founded Michigan’s Premier in 2014, a travel baseball organization that has developed many college baseball players. He was an intern Strength and Conditioning Coach at Oakland University. He also completed a practicum where he shadowed Director of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning, Mike Favre, at the University of Michigan.

Simonis earned his Master’s Degree is Sports Administration from Wayne State University in 2019. He earned his Undergraduate Degree at Rochester University in 2014 where he played for the Warriors.

This season will be  Hagen’s second season as a coach, after spending three years as a player here at OUAZ.  Coach Hagen works with the corner infielders as well as assist with the hitters.  Originally from Lancaster, California, Hagen relocated to Surprise to begin his coaching career while earning his Master’s Degree.   A 2016 graduate of Paraclete High School (CA), Hagen pitched and played third base and continued on at Antelope Valley Community College (CA) before transferring to OUAZ where he became a first baseman and a mainstay in the middle of the Spirit lineup for three years.

In his first year at OUAZ, Coach “JJ” born and raised in Chandler, AZ is a graduate of Perry High School in 2016 and went on to play JUCO baseball at Paradise Valley CC in Phoenix, AZ. Upon completing his associates, he transferred to Doane University in Crete, NE where he was a first team all conference relief pitcher his senior year. He will be working on his MBA while assisting the OUAZ Spirit pitchers.
