Join the Livingstone College Softball staff and an elite lineup of coaches from other top college programs for a high-intensity Softball Prospect Camp designed specifically for high school athletes looking to compete at the next level. This exclusive camp offers hands-on instruction, position-specific training, and live game reps in a competitive environment.

Campers will work directly with college coaches throughout the day, gaining valuable feedback, insight into the college recruitment process, and a firsthand look at what it takes to excel in collegiate softball. With only 40 spots available, this is your chance to showcase your skills in a focused setting with unmatched access to decision-makers from multiple programs.

– Small group drills and fundamental skill development
– Live hitting and fielding evaluations
– Pitcher/Catcher bullpens with feedback
– Coach-led recruiting Q&A (if applicable)
– Direct exposure to coaches from Livingston College and other collegiate programs
– Eligibility: Open to all players in the 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029 graduating classes.

Steven Wallace enters his fourth year as the Head Softball and Bowling coach. Wallace comes to Livingstone College from Luna Community College where he was the head softball coach.

Wallace has been coaching for over two decades. He has coached many sports over the course of his career. His coaching experience includes volleyball, bowling, basketball, and softball. He recently coached high school softball at Freedom High School in Woodbridge, VA. As softball coach at Freedom, Mr. Wallace monitored academic performance of student-athletes in addition athletic programs and educated athletes in rules, strategies, sportsmanship and performance principles.
Wallace worked at Luna Community College from 2019-2021 as head softball coach. His responsibilities included recruiting student-athletes according to the NJCCA guidelines, reviewing student grades for eligibility reasons, and providing leadership and administration of the program.

Wallace worked as softball coach at Jarvis Christian University 2014-2018 and managed the day to day operations for the Jarvis Christian University athletic program.  Wallace has served in other roles such as Assistant Athletic Director at Virginia University of Lynchburg. Other stops include head softball, volleyball and bowling coach Saint Paul’s College 2004-2011.
Steve Wallace wears many hats. He is a coach, mentor, and motivational speaker wrapped into one. He genuinely cares about his athletes and encourages them to be successful on or off the field.

Those who know Steve Wallace well, affectionately call him “Stevie Wonder”, not so much for musical ability, but for his track record of producing champions on the field and court and also in the classroom. He has a “knack” for working with little and producing greatly. Both his volleyball teams and softball teams at Virginia University of Lynchburg (2011-2013) maintained a team GPA of 3.42 and 3.46 respectively. Perhaps, his greatest accomplishment came in May 2013 when he took a well-coached softball team from Virginia University of Lynchburg to the National Softball World Series for Small Colleges in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Virginia University of Lynchburg is one of six Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the conference and the first HBCU to be invited to play. Although VUL did not win the World Series, they gained an overwhelming among of respect for their academic success with two members of the team being recognized for maintaining a 4.00 GPA, their sportsmanship, and competitive spirit when ranked 9th in the USCAA Softball Poll.

Wallace has received numerous awards to include: Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Softball coach of the year (2009), Saint Paul’s College; CIAA Bowling Coach of the Year (2002), Virginia State University; and CIAA Bowling Coach of the Year (2006), Saint Paul’s College.

Wallace a native of Washington, D.C. and been a Virginia resident for the past 30 years. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Virginia State University, Petersburg, VA in 1998 and completed a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2002.

Wallace is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, The National Tenpin Coaches Association and the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association. Mr. Wallace served on the NCAA Regional Softball Committee and was selected the NCAA Atlantic Softball Regional Site Supervisor in 2010.

Coach Wallace is a passionate about providing opportunities for students to work as a team/family, excel academically while actively participating in sports, and ensuring that his students reach their full potential.
