Madison Ragan is headed to Florence Darlington Tech after previous coaching stops at Andrew College, Georgia Southwestern State University, and Southland Academy.
During her lone season at Andrew College, Ragan worked with both the offense and the pitching staff. She coached and developed the GCAA HR leader for the year, and she successfully helped move multiple sophomores on to 4-year institutions.
Ragan then spent her next 3 years as an assistant coach at Georgia Southwestern State University. Most notably, Ragan helped sign and develop the D2 National Softball Player of the Year Zoe Willis. Under Ragan’s tutelage, Willis became a dominant player at the plate and in the circle. The Georgia Southwestern softball program amassed their first two 30-win seasons in the history of the program during Ragan’s tenure.
As a player, Ragan attended Jacksonville University where she was selected to the All ASUN First Team in 2017 while also leading the team in doubles and in batting average her senior year with a .346 average. Prior to Jacksonville, Ragan was a part of the two-time FCSAA State Championship team in 2015 and 2016 and was an NJCAA National Champion in 2015 at Chipola College. While at Chipola, Ragan was a two-time First Team All Panhandle selection in 2015 and 2016. She was also named First Team All-State in 2015 and second team in 2016. She is 2nd in Chipola history in homeruns and recorded the nation’s lowest ERA her freshmen year.
After her collegiate career, she was picked to play professional softball in the first annual ASBA draft in 2018 by team Outkast who won the regular season championship. While playing in the ASBA Ragan was the 2018 leader in games finished in the circle and she also had a 1.043 slugging percentage and 5 homeruns at the plate.
Ragan graduated from Southwest Georgia Academy in Damascus, Ga in 2014.
