The University of South Carolina Beaufort baseball team will host a Prospect/Development Camp on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023. This camp is for current high school baseball players. The USCB coaching staff will lead the camp, which will be held at Richard Gray Sports Complex (205 Main Street, Hardeeville, S.C.). There are two sessions of the camp – position players and pitchers only. Players are welcome to register for both. Registration opens at 8 a.m. at the field. The sign-in desk will be behind the third-base dugout. The first session – position players – begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at noon. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch, followed by the pitchers only session from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Registration for the pitchers only portion will start at 12:00PM.

Players will go through position-specific drills along with offensive and defensive instruction from the Sand Shark baseball coaching staff.

There will be a break for lunch, but lunch will not be provided by USCB.

Players should bring their own gear, including bats, gloves, cleats and catching equipment.

To attend either session will cost $150 per player, while attending both sessions cost $200 per player.

The liability wavier at the bottom of the page must be completed and turned in for admittance into the camp. Completed forms can be sent via email to Zrober@uscb.edu or via text message (picture of completed document) to 434-907-2666. Whichever is most convenient for you.

In the event of inclement weather the camp will be rescheduled for an alternate date. There will be no refunds.

POSITION PLAYER ONLY
Position Player Portion: Campers will meet and greet with the coaching staff. Then we go through our exclusive stretching and flexibility programs. Followed by base-running instruction and recorded running times. We'll then go into our personal long toss program before recording throwing velocities from the infield/outfield (catchers get pop-times and velocity). Afterwards we'll go into our "individual defensive groups" where campers get to work hands on with a member of our staff. Finally we'll finish up with a brief hitters talk and batting practice where we not only record exit velocities but also grade the overall mechanics of the swing. After camp all campers receive an evaluation sheet with all the metrics included along with individual suggestions from our coaching staff on how to continue to develop.

PITCHER ONLY
Pitcher's Portion Includes: Campers will start by meeting and greet with the coaching staff. Immediately after the meet and greet, pitchers will go into our exclusive stretching and flexibility programs. After stretching, the pitching coach will discuss arm care as the campers are guided through our personal Sand Shark resistance band routine. Pitcher's will then go through our long toss program with progressions before finishing up throwing a bullpen. During the bullpen you will throw 20 pitches and your velocities will be recorded. Upon camp completion, pitcher's will receive an evaluation sheet with their velocities as well as their mechanical evaluation/suggestions to aid with further growth and development.

Richard Gray Sports Complex (205 Main Street, Hardeeville, S.C.). The field is located in the back of a city owned complex. You'll park in the parking lot behind the turf football field and then walk over to our field located in the back of the complex. We will have a sign-in desk behind our third-base dugout.
