Good afternoon, this is Jamison McIver, Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. We are a division 1 National Junior College located in Hudson, NC. On behalf of myself and our entire staff, we would like to invite you to our Elite Camp that we are hosting on Saturday, August 30th. This will be a great opportunity for you to showcase your talent in front of college coaches!
We have a great thing going on here at Caldwell. Over the past 10 years we have moved 80+ players on to the 4-year level. I believe we have done this by recruiting great players who want to come in and work hard to get better and grow their game, while still buying into our team concepts. Over the past 5 seasons we have won over 100 games while one of those seasons was shortened due to Covid.
Our Elite Camp is different than most as we are strictly limiting each session to 50 players. I believe this gives players ample opportunity to be seen and evaluated in a smaller setting instead of their being 150+ kids running around.
Our camp will start by an intense ball handling workout that we do almost every day with our team. This will show you how to improve your ball handling skills no matter what “position” you may play.
After the ball handling session, we will break into groups of 25. One group of 25 will stay in the gym and play games for roughly 45 minutes. Again, with small numbers you will be able to play multiple games and showcase your talent.
The other group of 25 will go into a classroom to watch game film of our previous teams here at Caldwell. This will give you the chance to see exactly how we play. During this time, we will also be doing a Q&A about anything you may want to know about our program.
Then we will rotate groups so that everyone has the chance to be seen by our coaching staff. The great thing is, all of this will be done in one building, so there will be no need for transportation once you get to our campus.
