Are you ready to elevate your lacrosse game? Join us for an exciting Youth Lacrosse Clinic in beautiful Virginia Beach! This dynamic clinic is designed for young players of all skill levels who are eager to improve their game, develop new skills, and have fun on the field.

What to Expect:

Expert Coaching: Learn from experienced lacrosse coaches and players who will guide you through fundamental drills, advanced techniques, and game strategies.
Skill Development: Focus on key areas such as stick handling, shooting, defense, and teamwork through engaging and interactive sessions.
Game Play: Put your skills to the test in friendly scrimmages and mini-games, applying what you’ve learned in real-game situations.
Team Building: Participate in team-building activities that emphasize sportsmanship, communication, and collaboration.

Lacrosse stick
Helmet, arm pads, shoulder pads, lacrosse gloves

Sam Jones

Sam Jones is entering his first season as head coach of the Virginia Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse program in May 2024. Jones enters his 6th season with the Marlins after joining the staff in the Spring of 2018 as a volunteer assistant coach.  In 2024, he joined the staff full-time through the SOCOM Warrior Care Fellowship Program.

A native of Annapolis, MD (Severna Park HS), Jones comes to Virginia Wesleyan by way of the United States Naval Academy where he is in the top ten in points scored (142) and caused turnovers (34). Over his career, he became the 31st player in program history to record over 100 points and was named the team’s Most Outstanding Player (3x). Additionally, over his career, he garnered all-conference recognition and during his freshmen campaign was named to the Inside Lacrosse All-Freshmen team.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Coach Jones exemplified leadership and dedication both on and off the lacrosse field. During his time at the Naval Academy Prep School, he was honored with the Inaugural 2nd Lt “Bull” Barrett Award, recognizing his outstanding hard work, unwavering dedication to the team, and inspiring leadership qualities.

Upon graduating from the Naval Academy with a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Affairs, Jones was commissioned in the United States Navy and served in the Naval Special Warfare Community for 10 years as a SEAL Officer.

Tom Faiella enters his 1st season as an assistant coach on the Marlin’s Lacrosse staff.

A native of Lorton, VA (South County HS/Top Caliber), Faiella is a former player and Virginia Wesleyan University Class of 2020 Alumni. As a player, Faiella’s time at VWU was marred by injuries over his first three seasons, giving two torn Achilles, a torn ACL, and a broken jaw for the Marlins. After a COVID shortened season, Faiella returned as a starter during his graduate year and turned in an admirable campaign registering 23 pts on 14 goals and 9 assists. For his efforts, Faiella was recognized by the University with the 2022 Elaine F. Sears Courage Award.

While at Virginia Wesleyan, Faiella majored in Political Science before obtaining his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Faiella currently resides in Ocean View with his roommate, Coach Sam Jones.

Evan Frund enters his 1st season as the graduate assistant on the Marlin’s Lacrosse staff.

A native of Sewickley, Pennsylvania (Quaker Valley HS), Frund comes to Virginia Wesleyan by way of Capital University in Columbus, OH where he graduated with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Sport Management. While at Capital, Frund started in 23 games as an Attackmen, registering 79 points on 64 goals and 15 assists, including three game-winning goals.

Frund is currently in the Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) program here at Virginia Wesleyan and resides in Virginia Beach, VA.

Our camps are open to all lacrosse players, regardless of skill level, age, grade level, or gender. We welcome beginners looking to learn the game as well as advanced players seeking to enhance their skills.

Our camps boast a highly qualified and experienced coaching staff. Instructors include Virginia Wesleyan coaches, and current VWU players. This ensures that participants receive top-notch instruction from experts who are dedicated to fostering the growth and development of young athletes.

The safety of our campers is of utmost importance to us. We maintain a safe and secure environment by adhering to all necessary health and safety guidelines. Our staff is trained to provide proper supervision and ensure that all equipment is in good condition.

Registration for our camps can be completed online through Play’n Sports software. The registration process will require basic information about your child, such as name, age/grade, emergency contact details, and any medical considerations. Specific instructions and registration deadlines will be available on the camp website.
